Hi there! I have worked with Adolescents and families as well as with the queer community for 5 years.
Hi! My name is Alyssa Ammerman, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York. I received my Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 2017 (GO BILLS!). I have had the opportunity to work, intern, and volunteer in a variety of behavioral health settings to include outpatient, critical incident debrief, residential, and vocational rehabilitation, which have led me to the opportunity to start my own practice. I have a special interest in working with first responders, parents, individuals with sleep disorders, chronic pain, and/or chronic illness, and those going through life changes. Beyond my clinical work, I enjoy volunteering as an EMT-B and firefighter, scuba diving, camping, attending concerts, and traveling.
If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone.

Growing up in a culture where mental health was often stigmatized, I saw how difficult it could be for people to openly talk about their struggles or ask for support. Those experiences shaped my passion for therapy and inspired me to help create a space where people feel comfortable, supported, and understood without fear of judgment.
In my work, I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating a range of life challenges. These experiences have strengthened my belief in meeting each person with empathy, patience, and respect for where they are in their journey, while helping them build on their strengths and move toward meaningful change.
